Getting Around

Navigating public transportation is an integral part of life in New Brunswick. The province’s well-organized public transportation system, including buses and ferries, offers a reliable way to explore various destinations. Here are the common public transportation options you’ll find in New Brunswick:

Buses

Many cities and towns in New Brunswick have local bus services that provide transportation within urban areas. Larger cities like Fredericton, Saint John, and Moncton generally have more extensive bus networks. These buses are operated by transit authorities or private companies. Intercity Buses: Intercity bus services connect different cities and towns within the province and even offer routes to neighboring provinces. Companies like Maritime Bus and Acadian Lines operate intercity bus services.

Ferries

Given New Brunswick's proximity to water bodies, ferries play a significant role in transportation, especially in areas near rivers and the Bay of Fundy. Ferries connect communities and islands, offering both passenger and vehicle transportation.

Trains

Via Rail operates passenger train services that connect major cities in New Brunswick to other parts of the Maritimes and Canada. While train services are more limited compared to other modes of transportation, they provide a scenic and comfortable travel option.
