His commitment to the community is evident through his roles as the EMO Coordinator for Strait Shores, a member of the Age-Friendly Community Team, Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Port Elgin, and President of the PEDVAC Foundation Board of Directors. MacGregor's consistent participation in council meetings over the past two and a half years showcases his dedication to enhancing community life. Three Fixes for Strait Shores’ Future

1. Enhancing Road Safety

One of MacGregor’s primary concerns is the speeding issue at the intersection of Shemogue Rd. and Main St., a busy crossroad near local schools and family homes. To tackle this problem, he proposes the installation of a 3-way stop. This measure is designed to significantly reduce speeding, thereby increasing safety for children and all residents in the vicinity. MacGregor’s commitment to road safety is a testament to his dedication to the well-being of the community.

2. Revitalizing Centennial Park

Recognizing the potential of Strait Shores’ natural landscapes, MacGregor plans to transform Centennial Park into a more attractive and accessible space. He envisions a beautifully groomed riverside area that will enhance the enjoyment of the waterfront for families and tourists alike. This initiative will not only provide a safe and scenic spot for community gatherings but also complement the natural beauty of Strait Shores.

3. Boosting Local Economy Through Tourism

Understanding the importance of tourism to the local economy, MacGregor aims to amplify promotions of the summer tourist season. By increasing marketing efforts and enhancing local attractions, he seeks to draw more visitors to the area, thus boosting economic development in Strait Shores and supporting local businesses. This strategy is particularly crucial as Strait Shores continues to recover and grow from seasonal tourist influxes.

Andy MacGregor’s campaign focuses on these tangible improvements to create a safer, more enjoyable, and economically robust Strait Shores. With a clear vision and proven dedication, he asks for your support in the upcoming council election to bring these projects to fruition, promising a brighter future for the community.
