Maple Syrup Season Begins
Maple syrup in NB begins its journey as the weather starts to warm up, with the sap in maple trees flowing more freely. Producers start tapping their trees to collect this precious sap. The majority of maple syrup production takes place in the northern part of New Brunswick, where the climate is just right. Maple trees love cold winters and mild summers. During maple syrup season in NB, many local producers will open up their sugar camps or sugar shacks to the public so visitors can learn about the maple syrup making process, sample fresh syrup, and enjoy other family-friendly activities.
